Day 01 : Arrive Mumbai
Arrive
Mumbai, Welcome and assistance upon arrival at the airport. Later transfer
to hotel.
Day 02 : Mumbai
Morning free to relax and then proceed for the city tour of Mumbai visiting
the Gateway of India built to commemorate the visit of King George V, Prince
of Wales Museum, Crawford market, Dhobi Ghat. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 : Mumbai - Ahmedabad
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Ahmedabad. Arrive and
transfer to hotel. Afternoon, proceed for the city tour of Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad contains some very fine museums, the Calico museum of textile
being considered one the worlds fines. This walled city is testimony to
India's crafts. Visit some of the famous ancient wooden Jain temples,
shaking minarets, Jumma Masjid and modern architectural design buildings.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04 : Ahmedabad - Wankaner
Morning transfer to airport for flight to Rajkot. Arrive and drive to
Wankaner, 67 kms and 02 hrs drive. Located on the Peninsula of Saurashtra
and in the middle of an island, Wankaner is a small town about 48 km from
Rajkot. It gets its name from the two words 'Wanka' meaning a bend and 'ner'
meaning water stream in Gujarati. Thus Wankaner literally means a bend on
the stream, as it is located on the bend of the Machchhu River. Afternoon
city tour of Wankaner includes visit to stupendous 1907 Ranjit Vilas and
local Village. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05 : Wankaner - Gir
Early morning drive to Sasan Gir Forest for game viewing, 95 kms and 02 hrs
drive. If you wanted to see lions in India, you have to come to Sasangir.
Here in the rugged hilly terrains of Gujarat, the King of Beasts prowl
through the dense deciduous forests and crisscrossing streams. Apart from
the lions, there are myriad other birds and animals in the sanctuary. On
arrival check in into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06 : Gir
After
breakfast, full day game viewing at the Jungle. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07 : Gir - Palitana
Morning drive to palitana. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Afternoon city
tour. Palitana is a gateway to Shatrunjaya, the Place of Victory. It is
famous as one of Jainism's holiest pilgrimage places. The climb up 2 kms to
the hill will lead you into 863 different Jain temples built over a period
of 900 years. The most important temple is dedicated to Sri Adhiswara, the
first tirthankar a Jain Founder) Nearby is the Muslim shrine of Angar pi.
Childless women come here and make offering of miniature cradles at this
shrine to become mothers. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08 : Palitana - Bhavnagar
Morning drive to Bhavnagar, 56 kms and 01 hrs drive. Arrive and check in at
hotel. Afternoon city tour. Bhavnagar was once a Princely State, was founded
in 1743 is now a flourishing port of Khambat. This city is famous for sacred
Shatrunjaya hills, Takhteswar temple situated on hilltop and Gaurshankar
lake. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09 : Bhavnagar - Mumbai
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Mumbai. Arrive Mumbai
and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 10 : Mumbai - Aurangabad
Morning transfer to airport for flight to Aurangabad. Arrive and transfer
to hotel. Afternoon visit Ellora caves. (Caves closed on Monday) Ellora
Caves - Three distinct groups of temples relate the story of the evolution
of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. Chiseled out of rock by religious monks
over the centuries, the sites were chosen for their seclusion. Over 2000
years old, they are compared to the Pyramids for their amazing construction,
sculptures and frescoes. The most marvelous of all is the Stupendous Rock
Temple of Kailash. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11 : Aurangabad
Full day visit to Aurangabad - Mumbai Ajanta caves. Ajanta Caves - 112 km
from Aurangabad, the caves here which are over 2000 years old hewn out of a
solid rock. The wall paintings and frescoes of these caves have a beautiful
flow of line and a wealth of color. After noon proceed for the tour of
Aurangabad, visit Aurangabad Caves, Daulatabad Fort and Bibi - Ka - Maqbara.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12 : Aurangabad - Mumbai - Goa
Morning
transfer to airport for flight to Goa, via Mumbai. Arrive Mumbai and then
board the flight for Goa. Arrive and check - in at hotel. Afternoon city
tour of Goa. Goa - famous for its world renowned golden beaches and its
Dutch Portuguese influence. Visit Basilica Cathedral where the body of St.
Francis Xavier is enshrined, Patriarch's Palace, Church of St. Francis of
Assisi. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 13 : Goa
Full day free to relax at the world famous Golden beaches of Goa. Overnight
stay at the beach.
Day 14 : Goa - Mumbai
Morning free to relax at the beach. Afternoon transfer to airport for
flight to Mumbai. Arrive and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 15 : Mumbai - Onward Journey
Transfer to airport for flight to your onward destination.
