Day 01 : Arrive Chennai
Arrive
Chennai. On arrival at the airport, you will meet our representative and be
transferred to hotel. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 02 : Chennai
Morning leave for city tour of Chennai. Later visit the Museum to see the
Art and Bronze Gallery (Closed on Fridays and Public holidays). Drive
through the Flower and Fruit market, High court, Fort museum, Marina Beach,
Santhome Cathedral and snake park. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 03 : Chennai - Mahabalipurm & Kanchipuram
Morning drive to Mahabalipuram (65 kms / 1 hr). On arrival transfer to the
Hotel. Later visit city of Mahabalipuram, which is famous for the seven
pagodas. Here on the seashore is an interesting group of ancient rock hewn
temples which are the examples of Dravidian style of Architecture. Visit the
Shore Temple, the Five Raths, the Arjuna's Penance and the Tiger Cave. Also
visit Kanchipuram, which is the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a
city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated
to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th century and has paintings on the
walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and
Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks.
Overnight stay at Hotel in Mahabalipuram.
Day 04 : Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry
Morning drive to Pondicherry (about 150 kms / 3 hrs). On arrival transfer
to the Hotel. Later visit Varadaraja Perumal Temple, Vedapureeswarar Temple
and Manakula Vinayagar Temple. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 05 : Pondicherry - Tanjore
Morning drive to Tanjore (177 kms / 6 hrs) via Chidambaram. Upon arrival
transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 06 : Tanjore
Morning visit Tanjore, which is refereed to as the rice bowl - of Tamil
Nadu. Visit Sri Brahadeeshwar temple, the Palace and Art Gallery. Rest of
the day free for leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 07 : Tanjore - Trichy - Madurai
Morning drive to Madurai (255 kms / 6 hrs). En-route visiting Trichy. On
arrival transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08 : Madurai
Morning leave for city tour of Madurai, an Ancient and traditional town is
dominated by the colorful and lively Meenakshi Temple whose
thousand-pillared hall is crowded with exquisitely carved columns. Visit to
Sri Meenakshi Temple for which Madurai is synonymous with. Later visit
Thirumala's Nayakr Mahal, Gandhi Museum and Thiruparangundram. Overnight
stay at Hotel.
Day 09 : Madurai - Munnar
Morning drive to Munnar (170 kms / 4-5 hrs). On arrival transfer to the
Hotel. Later visit the tea plantations. Also visit Mattupatty dam. Overnight
stay at hotel.
Day 10 : Munnar - Cochin
Morning
drive to Cochin (135 kms / 5 hrs). Upon arrival transfer to the hotel.
Cochin is the home of the famed theatrical dance tradition of Kathakali.
Evening attend a performance of Kerala's unique dance form, the Kathakali.
Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 11 : Cochin - Out
Morning leave for city tour of Cochin. Main attractions are Jewish
synagogue, Portuguese Churches, mosques and Hindu temples. Also watch the
Chinese Fishing Nets. Evening transfer to the Airport to connect flight for
onward destination.
